Greetings Shurn Family Members! The Charlotte chapter is excited to host this year’s reunion at the spacious Leatherwood Mountains Resort in Ferguson, North Carolina. Put on your hiking shoes, break out your fishing gear and prepare to be wowed! Located among 40,000 acres of remote mountain woodland, Leatherwood offers spectacular scenic views, abundant wildlife and unparalleled serenity. Unlike a hotel, Leatherwood offers affordable, luxurious vacation rental cabins ranging from one to five bedrooms. Think of it as a home away from home, with breathtaking views and outdoor activities to indulge your adventurous side.
Families are able to select from 28 privately owned, fully equipped mountain cabins (see list of cabins below). To view each cabin, go to www.leatherwoodmountains.com, click on Lodging, then click Reservations and lastly click the gray button Click to Make Your Reservation. This will take you to the webpage where you can view each cabin and cabin amenities. You must call the hotel to book your cabin. Housing options are large enough to provide room for several adults and children. Prices range from $175-600 per night. Our goal is to bring families together not just in activities but also in living quarters. We strongly encourage families to book/stay together to reduce the cost.
To guarantee the best rate, please call 800-462-6867 and mention that you are reserving with the Shurn Family Reunion. To reserve a cabin, families will need to pay a $25 rental fee and 50% of the cost at the time of booking. The remaining 50% is due 30 days before your arrival on July 25th, 2018. The resort has blocked 28 cabins solely for the Shurn family from now until April 1, 2018. After April 1, the resort will open these cabins up to the general public. Included is a map of the resort and cabin locations to help in your decision making. The first three families to book a cabin will receive a prize!
